Tehran (IP) - Chief of Staff of Iran's Armed Forces says significant progress has been made in producing the country’s newest satellite carrier ‘Zuljanah’, which will put different satellites in the low earth orbit (LEO).

Iran Press/Iran News: “Our country, especially in the field of defense, has made good progress in the satellite-carrying rockets, which is the result of the close cooperation of the Armed Forces with universities, research institutes, and knowledge-based companies,” Major-General Mohammad Bagheri told Iran Press on Tuesday.

Bagheri said at the Closing Ceremony of the First Sacred Defense and Resistance Award of Lt Gen Martyr Qasem Soleimani: “A satellite-carrying rocket was designed, produced and launched dubbed as ‘Zuljanah’, which successfully passed the stages of the three engines, which were two solid-fuel engines and a liquid-fuel engine, and reached the specified orbit, and in the next stages, it will put the satellite in orbit.”

He said: “Compared to previous works in the field of satellite carrier, significant progress has been made to put a high volume and variety of satellites in the low Earth orbit (LEO).”

The Closing Ceremony of the selection of the Best Research Works of Sacred Defense and Resistance Award of Lt Gen Martyr Qasem Soleimani was held on Tuesday in Tehran with the attendance of the Chief of Staff of Armed Forces Major-General Mohammad Bagheri.

In this ceremony, prominent researchers and top research work in the years 2018-2020 in the field of Sacred Defence and Resistance were honored.
