Azerbaijani Defense Minister and his Turkish counterpart discussed military and technical cooperation between the two countries on Saturday evening.

According to a statement, the Azerbaijani Defense Minister Zakir Hasanov referred to the strengthening of bilateral relations between Ankara and Baku and emphasized military cooperation between the two countries.

Accordingly, the Defense Ministers of Turkey and the Republic of Azerbaijan stressed the need to increase efforts for military and technical cooperation, as well as to hold joint exercises.

On Saturday, the Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar went to the Republic of Azerbaijan to attend the opening ceremony of the Russian-Turkish Joint Center in the Nagorno-Karabakh region for monitoring the ceasefire.

The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan announced on Saturday that Russia and Turkey have opened a joint center to monitor the process of the ceasefire and the truce in the Nagorno-Karabakh region.

After 44 days of conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh, the Republic of Azerbaijan and Armenia agreed on a ceasefire in the Nagorno-Karabakh region with the mediation of Russia on November 9.
