Two Iranian documentaries nominated for Oscars

Tehran (IP) - Two Iranian documentaries 'Coup d'etat of 53' and 'Art of Living in Danger' qualified to take part in the 93rd Academy Awards for best documentary.

Iran PressIran News: According to the official website of the Oscar Academy, the documentaries 'Coup d'etat of 53' made by Taghi Amirani and 'Art of Living in Danger' directed by 'Mina Keshavarz', are competing for Oscar on behalf of Iranian cinema.

The 119-minute documentary of the 'coup d'etat of 53' attempts to present unspoken angles of the coup d'état of Mordad 28, 1332 (August 19,1953), which led to the overthrow of Dr. Mossadegh's national government.

The documentary 'Art of Living in Danger' is also a joint product of Iran and Germany and deals with domestic violence. The film premiered at the Sheffield Film Festival in the United Kingdom and recently won the Best Documentary Award at the Busan International Film Festival.
