Iran Press/ Asia: Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, who met Vasif Talibov on Saturday, highlighted the importance of regional cooperation to maintain transit and transportation links in the region, emphasizing the role of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
Talibov, for his part, presented a report of Iran-Nakhichevan cooperation in trade and power, as well as cultural topics including the Persian language, and announced Nahimana's readiness for cooperation in railway and transit, routs, costumes, and the facilities provided to accept transited goods to expand regional cooperation.
Addressing Aras environmental issues, affairs of Iranians living in Nakhchivan, and Persian language chair at Nakhchivan State University was among other topics discussed during the meeting.
The Iranian Foreign Minister arrived in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic on Saturday to review the situation and meet with officials of the region.
During a regional trip to the Republic of Azerbaijan, Russia, Armenia, Georgia, and Turkey, Zarif met with the leaders and high-ranking officials of these five countries and discussed bilateral relations and regional cooperation.
