Iran Press/ Asia: In the fifth phase of his regional tour, Mohammad Javad Zarif met with Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu in Istanbul this morning (Friday).
Zarif discussed issues of transit, trade, energy, and mutual efforts to resolve the problems of companies and economic actors on both sides.
In the section on regional issues, he also exchanged views in the four capitals of the region and explained the vision of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the shadow of ending the conflict in Karabakh and using the present opportunity to maintain peace and stability in the region in the light of developing cooperation, especially in economic fields.
The Turkish Foreign Minister also stressed the importance of implementing the two countries' agreements in the fields of transport, trade, and energy.
Cavusoglu announced the increase of cooperation in the forthcoming period, considering holding the eighth round of the Joint Economic Cooperation Commission meeting to be held in Tehran in the near future.
Iran-Turkey strategic meetings, Astana summit, Iran-Turkey-Azerbaijan trilateral meeting, Syria issues and recent Syria Constitution meeting in Geneva, Iran-Turkey-Afghanistan tripartite cooperation, bilateral cooperation on coronavirus and its vaccine, were the other issues discussed between the foreign ministers of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Turkey.
