Tehran (IP) - A Taliban political delegation led by Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, the group's deputy political bureau, who arrived in Tehran yesterday, met with the secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council this morning.

Iran Press/Iran News: In this meeting, Ali Shamkhani, referring to the history of US evil and incitement to war in the region, stated: "The United States does not seek peace and security in Afghanistan; The US strategy is to continue the war and bloodshed among the various factions of Afghanistan."

Shamkhani said that the United States is pursuing the show of peace talks with the aim of creating a deadlock in the talks between the various parties in Afghanistan in order to blame them for insecurity and instability.

The Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran will never recognize a group that seeks to rule in Afghanistan with war, and stressed the need for the participation of all ethnic groups in determining the fate of Afghanistan in a completely peaceful process.

Shamkhani called the security of Afghanistan, especially in the provinces bordering Iran, an indispensable matter and stressed the Taliban's cooperation with the Afghan government to fight any insecurity and counter ISIL movements.

During the meeting, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar presented a report on the peace process in Afghanistan and pointed out Trump's irresponsibility in implementing the peace agreement, stating that "We do not trust the United States and we will fight any group that is a mercenary of the United States."

"We believe that in the future of Afghanistan, all tribes and clans must participate and play a role," he said.

Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar emphasized the security of the Afghan-Iranian border and announced the Taliban's readiness to cooperate in this regard.
