Baku (IP): Welcoming the proposal of the President of Azerbaijan entitled the 6-party regional cooperation initiative, the Iranian Foreign Minister announced the readiness of Iran to cooperate in all fields that would contribute to peace, stability, and tranquility of the region.

Iran Press/Asia: During a meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on Monday morning, Mohammad Javad Zarif congratulated the government and the people of Azerbaijan on their recent victories, stressing the need to expand bilateral cooperation.

Referring to the successful visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Iran, the Iranian Foreign Minister assessed the cooperation between the two countries, especially in the economic sphere, as ready for a leap.

FM Zarif also expressed satisfaction with the results of the 14th round of the Joint Economic Cooperation Commission, announcing Iran's readiness to take an active role in the reconstruction of the liberated areas, especially in the fields of construction, issuance of technical-engineering services, electricity, and energy, agriculture, extraterrestrial cultivation, demining, reconstruction of mosques and historical monuments.

During the meeting, Ilham Aliyev appreciated the position of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the recent developments of the region, expressing satisfaction with the level of cooperation between the two countries.

Enumerating the economic projects between the two countries, he welcomed the presence of Iranian companies in the reconstruction of Nagorno-Karabakh and expressed satisfaction with the Islamic Republic of Iran's view on the six-party initiative, calling it in favor of peace and common interests of the region.

Ilham Aliyev also welcomed the holding of Iran-Azerbaijan-Russia trilateral meetings, as well as Iran-Azerbaijan-Turkey trilateral meetings in the future.

The Iranian Foreign Minister arrived in Baku, the capital of the Republic of Azerbaijan, on Sunday evening. After Azerbaijan, he is scheduled to travel to Russia, Armenia, Georgia, and Turkey.
