Baku (IP) - Upon his arrival in Baku, Iran's Foreign Minister said that "we are pleased that our brotherly country, the Republic of Azerbaijan, has liberated its territories and we are interested in helping the residents of the territories return to there as soon as possible."

Iran Press/Asia: Heading a delegation, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, traveled to the Republic of Azerbaijan to visit the Russian Federation, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Georgia, and the Republic of Turkey, arrived in Baku on Sunday as the first step of his travel.

Upon his arrival, he told reporters: "The main issue is regional cooperation, which is very important for us and bilateral relations with these countries which Iran has a very good and close relationship."

Zarif said: "Tomorrow, in a meeting with Azeri officials, we will talk about the reconstruction and the condition in Nagorno-Karabakh and cooperation to maintain stability here."

"Also, we will discuss issues related to transit and the North-South and North-West corridors with Azeri friends," he said.

He also said in response to a question about Iran's view of its relations with the Persian Gulf countries: "We always believe that the Persian Gulf region always needs dialogue and cooperation and creating trusting methods between the countries of the region, and we always embrace in this regard. We were and will be open to our neighbors."
