Tehran (IP) - Iran and Armenia signed a memorandum of understanding on expanding trade cooperation.

Iran PressIran News: After the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between Iran and Armenia, Iranian Minister of Industry, Mine, and Trade, Alireza Razm Hosseini, said on Saturday evening: "Iran's exports to Armenia are about $ 300 million, and the signing of this memorandum will greatly help to increase this figure."

He also considered mines, food, and home appliances as suitable opportunities for the two countries' businessmen to develop cooperation.

Emphasizing the bilateral cooperation between Iran and Armenia in the field of trade and joint exports to other countries, Armenian Minister of Economy Vahan Karubian said for his part: "Armenia is ready to provide the country's trade capacity to Iranian traders to enter third countries."

َAlso, on the sidelines of a meeting with Isfahan Governor Abbas Rezaei on Sunday, Karubian said: "We must take many executive steps and be able to export the products of the two countries to a third country, Eurasia."

The Minister of Economy of Armenia noted that the volume of trade last year was $ 400 million, which is less than the two countries' capacity, stressing that it must reach one billion dollars in the next six months.

In a meeting with the Minister of Economy of Armenia, the Governor of the Central Bank of Iran, Abdolnaser Hemmati, also expressed hope for improving Iran's trade and economic conditions.

He stressed the need to use the opportunity to develop cooperation capacities between the two countries and noted that developing regional cooperation capacities was a priority.

Vahan Karubian arrived in Tehran two days ago to increase the level of trade relations with Iran.
