Iran Press/ Europe: Russian President Vladimir Putin invited Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to the Russian capital; to hold a meeting on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict which is scheduled for tomorrow (Monday).
During the talks, Putin, Pashinyan and Aliyev will discuss the implementation of their statement on Nagorno-Karabakh, which was signed by the three sides on November 10, 2020. The meeting will also present an agenda for a regional solution to the crisis.
The conflict between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Armenia over Nagorno-Karabakh began in 1988 turning into a military conflict in 1991, and once again, since September 27, the conflict resumed in each other's positions which led to the killing and injuring of thousands on both sides.
Following this conflict, on November 10, 2020, the Nagorno-Karabakh Peace Agreement for the establishment of a complete ceasefire and the elimination of all hostilities in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone was signed by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Vladimir Putin the Russian president.
According to the agreement, control of the Nagorno-Karabakh region, which fell into the hands of Armenian forces during the recent clashes should be transferred to the Republic of Azerbaijan. 219
