Iran ready to expand co-op with Armenia in industry

Tehran (IP) - Iran's Minister of Industry, Mine, and Trade and Armenia's Minister of Economy discussed the ways of expanding trade ties between the two countries.

Iran PressIran News: Speaking in a meeting with the  Armenian Minister of Economy Vahan Karubian on Saturday, Iran's Minister of Industry, Mine, and Trade Alireza Razmhosseini pointed to Iran's capacities for producing steel products, appliances, automobile, and food, emphasized the readiness of Iran's different parts of industry and services to expand cooperation with Armenia. 

The Armenian minister for his part noted that the economic cooperation between Tehran and Yerevan is not balanced regarding the current capacities and capabilities.

"Through joint production in Armenia, the sanctions can be circumvented and the volume of trade between the two countries can raise to $1 billion within six months from the current $400 million," Varan Kerobyan added.

He announced the readiness of the Armenian businessmen to facilitate the export from Iran to Russia, stressing that the infrastructure for the process must be prepared. 

The Armenian Minister of Economy previously had a meeting with the Governor of the Central Bank of Iran, Abdolnaser Hemmati.

Vahan Kerobyan arrived in Tehran yesterday (Friday) intending to consult to increase the level of trade relations with Iran.
