Tehran (IP) - Iran's Minister of Road and Urban Development has said that one of the enemies’ goals during sanctions was weakening Iran’s economy especially in the marine sector but failed.

Iran PressIran News: Mohammad Eslami added that the marine industry needs to empower human resources, technology, and trade capacity to be developed.

Emphasizing training human resources using local capacities, the minister said: "We can not improve unless we rely on local capacities and today, the Port and Marine Organization has trusted local production for improving its equipment."

Head of Science and Technology University of Iran, Jabbar-Ali Zakeri as another speaker of the ceremony on singing two contracts and delivering ten watercraft (ship) stated that we can give more services to the country by forming faculty of port affairs and marine.

"PMO as a policymaker of Iran’s marine transportation in the region can achieve its goals through cooperation with the universities," he added.

"Cooperation has been done with other universities worldwide like Shanghai, hoping that we can improve this field in the shortest time," Zakeri concluded.

The signing ceremony of two contracts for the supply and delivery of ten pilot ships worth 3907 billion Rials was held in the presence of Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development Mohammad Eslami, Head of Iran's Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO) Mohammad Rastad, and Commander of Khatam Al-Anbia Construction Saeed Mohammad at the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development on Saturday evening.
