Tehran (IP) - The death toll from COVID-19 in Iran reached 57,225 and the disease has taken the lives of 75 patients over the past 24 hours, the Health Ministry said.

Iran PressIran News: Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Sadat Lari said on Friday the number of people tested positive for COVID-19 across the country has risen to 1,360,825 after detecting 6,305 new cases since yesterday.

Of the new cases detected over the past 24 hours, 589 patients have been admitted to the hospital, she added. Among those undergoing treatment in medical centers at present, 4,134 coronavirus patients have critical health conditions, Lari noted.

The death toll from COVID-19 in Iran reached 57,225, she said, noting that the disease has taken the lives of 75 patients over the past 24 hours.

At least 1,151,676 patients have recovered from the coronavirus infection so far or have been discharged from hospitals across Iran, the spokeswoman said.

Lari also noted that more than 8,796,864 coronavirus diagnostic tests had been carried out in Iran so far.
