Tehran (IP) - The spokeswoman for Iran's Ministry of Health announced on Tuesday that in the past 24 hours, 87 COVID-19 patients had lost their lives, bringing the total death toll to 56,973.

Iran PressIran news: Sima Sadat Lari announced that in the past 24 hours, newly diagnosed patients with COVID-19 reached 5,917 cases, out of whom 518 patients were hospitalized.

"According to the statistics from yesterday to January 19, 2021, 1,342,134 people in the country have been infected with the coronavirus, and 1,131,883 of the total infected people recovered," Lari stated.

4,272 COVID-19 patients are in critical condition in Iran.

"So far, 8,364,553 COVID-19 diagnosis tests have been conducted across the country," the Health Ministry spokeswoman noted.
