Yemeni people hold rally over US hostile action against Ansarullah

People of Yemen'sTaiz held a rally against the US hostile action to designate Yemen’s Ansarullah movement as a “terrorist organization."

Iran Press/Middle East: The Yemenis once again expressed their anger and disgust at Yemen’s Ansarullah movement's designation as a “terrorist organization” after Friday prayers in Taiz, southwestern Yemen.

Yemeni demonstrators chanted slogans condemning the continuation of the US-Saudi coalition's crimes against the Yemeni people and the seizure of oil ships by Saudi Arabia.

Last Monday, the US State Department announced that it intends to designate Yemen’s Ansarullah movement as a “terrorist organization.”

Despite the declining US President Donald Trump's hostile action, Mohammed Abdul Salam, Chairman of the Yemeni National Salvation Government negotiating team and Spokesman for the Ansarullah Movement, stated that Ansarullah would not withdraw from peace talks with the United Nations and Saudi Arabia.

On Thursday, he also noted that these talks had nothing to do with the US' decision and that this decision would not limit their movements and international relations.

For more than six years, Yemen has witnessed a war in which 23,300 people lost their lives due to attacks by the Saudi-led Arab-American coalition with the support of the Israel regime.

According to the United Nations, 80 percent of Yemen's population of about 30 million is in dire need of global assistance to survive the worst humanitarian crisis. Still, the conflict has become more complicated due to regional issues.

Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia, along with the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait, Sudan, and Egypt, has launched a military invasion of Yemen and land, sea, and air blockade to bring back ousted and fugitive Yemeni President Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi.

The Yemeni army and Ansarullah are defending themselves alongside the Yemeni people, and the efforts of international bodies to end the war have failed every time with the sabotage of Saudi Arabia.
