The Fatah and Hamas movements supported the announcement of a Palestinian election by the Palestinian Authority.

Iran Press/Middle East: The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) said in a statement on Friday night that Hamas emphasizes the achievement of this right for the benefit of the Palestinian people, who have the absolute right to choose their leaders and representatives.

The Hamas movement has stated that in recent months it has worked to remove all obstacles to reaching an agreement on holding elections and that the movement has shown great flexibility in achieving this.

The Fatah movement also welcomed the timing of the trilateral presidential, parliamentary and national elections, calling it “A manifestation of the will of the Palestinian people."

The Palestinian people are going through a historic and important stage in ending the conflict, and the next stage in Palestine will see an in-depth national dialogue to examine all issues and details," said Fatah spokesman Osama al-Qawasemi.

Palestinian media reported on Friday night that the President of the Palestinian Authority, Mahmoud Abbas, had announced the date for the trilateral election in a meeting with Hana Nasser, the head of the election committee.

According to the decree, parliamentary elections will be held on May 22, 2021, presidential elections on July 31, and the National Assembly on August 31. If the three-day election is held on time, it will.
