Iran (IP) - The Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran's largest military vessel has joined the Navy.

Iran Press/Iran News: Today (Wednesday), the "Makran" big ship joined the naval fleet of the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran and operated in the "Eqtedar" naval drills in the presence of the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Maj. Gen. Mohammad Baqeri, the Chief Commander of the Army Maj. Gen. Abdolrahim Mousavi, and the Commander of the Navy Rear Admiral Hossein Khanzadi.

This big ship's mission is to establish maritime security in the Ras Al-Hadd area, the Gulf of Aden, the Red Sea, and the Bab al-Mandab Strait.

The Makran big ship is a 121,000-ton mobile island that the Navy has converted into one of the largest helicopter ports.

The ship is supposed to support naval combat fleets in international and remote waters, particularly in the North Indian Ocean, the Bab al-Mandab Strait, and the Red Sea.

With a length of 228 meters, a height of 21.5 meters, and a width of 42 meters, this big ship is the largest military vessel in Iran, which can sail at 15 knots.
