If US sanctions not lifted, IAEA inspectors to be fired: Official

Tehran (IP) - The member of the Iranian Parliament's Presiding Board stated that if the US sanctions against Iran were not lifted, the inspectors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) would be expelled from Iran in February 2021.

Iran Press/Iran News: Ahmad Amirabadi Farahani said in a television program on Saturday: "If the US sanctions against Iran are not lifted by February 21, 2021, especially in the financial, banking and oil fields, IAEA inspectors will be definitely expelled from Iran."

The member of the Iranian Parliament's Presiding Board Ahmad Amirabadi Farahani added that if the sanctions are not lifted by the announced date, the Islamic Republic of Iran will definitely stop the voluntary implementation of the Additional Protocol. This is the law of the Islamic Consultative Assembly and the government is obliged to implement it.

Stating that the main goal of the nuclear talks was the lifting of sanctions, which did not happen, he stressed that until the sanctions are lifted, there is no reason to fulfill the obligations of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The parliament of Iran, in the framework of steps to reduce nuclear commitments and the letter of the Iranian President to European countries, in response to US hostile actions against Iran and cooperation of European countries with it, finally approved a strategic action plan to lift sanctions.
