Iran Press/ America: The suspension of a joint session of the US House of Representatives and Senate to count the votes of the presidential electorate, which was stopped by the outcry of Donald Trump supporters inside the Congress building, provoked international reactions.
"Shocking scenes in Washington DC. The outcome of this democratic election must be respected," Jens Stoltenberg, head of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), tweeted.
Tom Tugendhat, chairman of the British Parliament Foreign Affairs Committee, also posted a message on his Twitter account, saying: "The US republic has inspired millions. Not today. Today many will watch the screens fearful of the power of demagogues who claim to speak for the powerless but tear apart the laws that constrain the strong and protect the weak.."
"Donald Trump's actions threaten us all," he said.
The German foreign minister also called on Trump and his supporters to abide by the decision of American voters and to stop undermining democracy.
Heiku Mass added in a tweet: "The enemies of democracy will be happy with these incredible images of Washington DC."
"Trump and his supporters must finally accept the decision of the US electorate and stop undermining democracy," he said.
The Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau, also expressed concern over the events in the United States and called for an end to the violence in the US. 219
