Tehran (IP)- Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman said that the issue of seizure of a South Korean tanker is completely technical and it has been directed to the coast with a court order due to the sea pollution.

Iran PressIran news: Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh told reporters on Monday about the seizure of the South Korean tanker that it was taken ashore to investigate the violation due to the pollution of the sea and with a court order.

Khatibzadeh added: "The Islamic Republic of Iran, like other countries, is sensitive to similar violations, especially pollution of the environment, so it will deal with this matter within the framework of the law."

"This is not an exceptional case and it has happened in similar cases before in the waters of Iran and other countries and it is normal. Additional information will be announced later," Foreign Ministry Spokesman noted.

The public relations of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) announced in a statement on Monday that a South Korean-flagged tanker, which was sailing from the port of Saudi Jubail in the Persian Gulf was seized by the navy of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps due to repeated violations of environmental laws.
