Tehran (IP) - Iran's Ministry of Health spokeswoman announced on Friday that 1,231,429 people in the country had been infected with the coronavirus, and 995,570 recovered.

Iran PressIran News: According to definitive laboratory findings from yesterday to January 1, 2020, newly diagnosed patients with COVID-19 was 6,286 cases out of whom 803 patients were hospitalized, Sima Sadat Lari stated.

She noted that in the past 24 hours, 114 COVID-19 patients had lost their lives, bringing the total death toll to 55,337.

5,013 COVID-19 patients are in critical condition, according to the spokeswoman.

"So far, 7,670,268 COVID-19 diagnosis tests have been conducted across the country," the Health Ministry spokeswoman pointed.

Currently, based on the latest analyses, the cities of Sari, Amol, Ramsar, and northern Savadkuh in Northern Iran are in red, 63 towns are in the orange zone, and 381 counties are in the yellow zone, Lari said.
