Tehran (IP) - The Iranian government has found a solution to pay for foreign supplies of coronavirus vaccines, CBI governor said.

Iran Press/Iran newsCentral Bank of Iran (CBI) Governor Abdolnasser Hemmati announced on Thursday that 200 million euros will be transferred from CBI funds in a foreign bank to purchase coronavirus vaccines.

Hemmati said two banks in Turkey and Europe and a branch of an Iranian bank will transfer the funds from South Korea to purchase the coronavirus vaccine, a scheme that the World Health Organization runs.

US' Office of Foreign Assets Control had granted a special permit to the South Korean bank to release part of the Iranian funds that have been blocked over the sanctions.

The case would be perused until the payment is finalized, Hemmati stressed.
