The US State Department and Treasury Department on Wednesday night imposed sanctions on a number of Belarusian officials and institutions on the pretext of not holding transparent elections in the country.

Iran PressAmerica: US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in his tweet said that he had imposed visa restrictions on 39 Belarusian officials. Pompeo claimed that these Belarusian officials had played a role in the lack of transparency in this year's Belarusian election and the suppression of the protests that followed.

Meanwhile, the United States and some Western countries have repeatedly interfered in the internal affairs of Belarus and incited the people of this country to revolt.

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko recently said that Russian and Belarusian intelligence services had discovered US intelligence-gathering centers in the Ukrainian capital, Kiev, as well as in Poland near Warsaw.

Lukashenko had previously said that Belarus's neighbors, including Poland, Ukraine and Lithuania, had staged and organized the unrest since the August presidential election in Belarus. 219
