Tehran (IP) - The commander of Iran’s Border Guards announced the seizing of more than two tons of various drugs by the border guards of Sistan and Baluchestan province on the southeastern borders of the country.

Iran Press/Iran news: "The border guards of Sistan and Baluchestan province in Mirjavah city were able to seize a large shipment of drugs," Brigadier-General Ahmad-Ali Goudarzi said on Wednesday.

Referring to the escape of drug traffickers, Goudarzi said: "Border guards have seized 1 ton and 720 kilograms of various drugs in this operation."

He added that the border guards of Saravan Border also seized 290 kilograms of various drugs in the Esfandak border area.

Iran's Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the Vienna-based International Organizations Kazem Gharibabadi has announced the discovery of more than 778 tons of various drugs by the Iranian police in the first 10 months of 2020.
