A total of 868 newly established industrial units and 508 revived production centers were inaugurated across Iran’s industrial parks on Tuesday by order of President Masoud Pezeshkian.

Why it matters:

The openings are aimed at accelerating production, strengthening domestic industry, and expanding employment as the country marks the Ten-Day Dawn (Fajr) anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.

The big picture:

Iran has prioritized reactivating idle factories and completing unfinished industrial projects as part of a broader push to boost output, support small and medium-sized enterprises, and distribute economic activity more evenly across provinces.

What he’s saying:

President Pezeshkian, speaking online during the ceremony on 21 Bahman, thanked the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade, and its managers.

“The measures taken and the projects inaugurated today are valuable within our capacity,” he said. “Our effort is to rapidly pursue our goals, plans, and achievements, and, God willing, through empathy and cooperation, move along the path of the country’s development and progress.”

By the numbers:

868 new industrial units launched.

508 production units restored to operation.

1,325 large, medium, and small units have been inaugurated in the past 18 months.

776 trillion tomans invested in those projects.

80,000+ direct jobs created.

What they’re saying:

Industry Minister Seyed Mohammad Atabak said small industrial units play a decisive role in job creation and the balanced distribution of industrial activity.

He added that Tuesday’s event marked the simultaneous inauguration of hundreds of newly built and reconstructed facilities in industrial parks nationwide.

Zoom in:

Officials say many of the revived units had previously halted operations due to financial or logistical constraints and were returned to the production cycle through targeted support and investment.

Bottom line:

Tehran is pairing new industrial capacity with the revival of dormant factories to deliver quicker employment gains and maintain momentum in the manufacturing sector.
