Tehran (IP) - Iran's vice president for science and technology said that the progress of knowledge-based companies in recent years has been outstanding and the Iranian people see the impact of these companies in their lives.

Iran Press/Iran News: At the joint opening ceremony of the 8th Iranian Laboratory Equipment and Materials Exhibition and the 21st Exhibition of Research, Technology, and Techno Market Talents, which was dubbed as "Iran-Made Exhibition" and was held virtually this morning, Sorena Sattari said the purpose of holding the Iran-Made Exhibition has always been for Iranian compatriots of different ages to use equipment made in Iran for research work and to create this self-confidence in them.

He stated that along with Iranian universities, 44 science and technology parks, 6 to 10 thousand startups and more than 150 private sector accelerators have been created, and 5500 Iranian knowledge-based companies have sold about 120 trillion tomans last year.

He noted that Iranian knowledge-based companies created 300,000 direct jobs last year, and the recruits are educated Iranians.

There is a process in Iran that can attract elites, that is, Iranian students abroad return to Iran in this system, Sattari explained. "In the last 4 years, we have helped to return 2,000 people from 100 prestigious universities in the world to Iran, and a significant number of these people work in knowledge-based companies."
