Spox: COVID-19 daily deaths in Iran reach 212

Tehran (IP) - ‏‏The spokeswoman for Iran's Ministry of Health announced on Thursday that 1,138,530 people in the country have been infected with the coronavirus, and daily deaths in Iran reach 212.

Iran Press/Iran News: The spokeswoman for Iran's Ministry of Health announced on Thursday that according to definitive laboratory findings from yesterday to December 17, 2020, newly diagnosed patients with COVID-19 reached 7,453 cases out of whom 1,147 patients were hospitalized.

According to the statistics, 1,138,530 people in the country have been infected with the coronavirus, and 856,513 of the total infected people recovered, the Spokeswoman for Iran's Ministry of Health Sima Sadat Lari stated.

She added that in the past 24 hours, 212 COVID-19 patients had lost their lives, bringing the total death toll to 53,095.

5,645 COVID-19 patients are in critical condition in Iran.

So far, 6,896,651 COVID-19 diagnosis tests have been conducted across the country, the Health Ministry spokeswoman noted.

Currently, 12 counties are in the red zone, 288 are in the orange zone, and 148 are in the yellow zone.
