The leader of Yemen’s Ansarullah movement, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, announced at the 34th Arab National Congress in Beirut that Yemen had carried out 1,830 military operations over the past two years in solidarity with Gaza.

Why it matters

He stated that these operations involved ballistic and cruise missile strikes, drone attacks, and naval assaults on 228 ships, which  led Israel to close the port of Eilat.

He said Yemen had shot down 22 U.S. MQ-9 drones and confronted five American aircraft carriers, calling it a failure of Washington’s military plans.

Al-Houthi described the Gaza war as “genocide beyond all human values”, blaming Israel for attacks on civilians.

Yemen itself has faced nearly 3,000 U.S.-Israeli strikes, killing hundreds, including senior officials.

 The big picture

Yemen’s Ansarullah Leader pointed to mass mobilization in Yemen,  including weekly marches with millions of participants, conferences, and military training, which have led to over 1.1 million recruits.

He warned against any attempts to “distort Iran’s role,” emphasizing that Tehran’s support is in the service of Arab resistance.

He argued that Gaza’s endurance, regional solidarity, and global movements are key to pressuring Israel.

What’s next

Abdul-Malik al-Houthi urged Arab leaders and grassroots movements to maintain their power, unity, and capacity for resistance, positioning these as essential for confronting future threats and achieving victory.
