Iran's leader sets conditions to reduce share of National Development Fund

Tehran (IP) - The Leader of Islamic Revolution, in response to the President's letter to reduce the fund's share to 20 percent in the 2021 budget bill, allowed the withdrawal of more than 20 percent of the National Development Fund to a limit of only 1 million barrels per day.

Iran PressIran news: The text of the Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei's letter to President Hassan Rouhani is as follows:

It is agreed to reduce the fund's share to 20%, subject to the following points:

1- The share of the National Development Fund for the sale of crude oil, gas condensate, and surplus per one million barrels per day should be 38% and all overdue government loans from the National Development Fund should be paid from the government's share of the said surplus.

2- All the expenses that have been financed in the budget of 2020 from the sources of the National Development Fund, should be financed in the budget of 2021 from the sources of the general budget. Withdrawal from National Development Fund resources is not permitted for the 2021 budget.

Mohsen Zanganeh, a member of the Parliamentary Program and Budget Commission, announced on his personal Twitter by publishing this letter: This letter means a reduction of 50,000 billion Tomans from resources and the removal of paragraph 4 of the 2021 budget bill, therefore, I suggest that the government make the reforms and resubmit the bill.
