Joint technical commission of Iran, Azerbaijan held in Nakhchivan

Nakhchivan (IP) - The meeting of the Joint Technical Commission of Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan on how to cooperate and operate the Khodaafarin and Qiz Qalehsi Dam and the Marazad-Ordubad hydroelectric power plants began in Nakhchivan.

Iran PressAsia: According to a report by the Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Nakhchivan on Monday, at a meeting of the Joint Technical Commission of Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan, the two sides exchanged views on how to continue cooperation.

The meeting, which began on Monday, will run for three terms.

Agreement on construction and operation of dams and power plants of Khodaafarin and Qiz Qalehsi on the Aras River was signed on February 13, 2016, between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Islamic Republic of Iran in Tehran.

To implement this plan, a joint technical commission consisting of officials and energy experts of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Islamic Republic of Iran has been established.

The agreement on construction and operation of 'Ordobad' and 'Marazad' dams was signed on April 9, 2014, in Tehran between Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan.
