Tehran (IP) - The president of the Cycling Federation of the Islamic Republic of Iran (CFI) says the national team has won more than 151 gold, silver, and bronze medals in international competitions in recent years.

Iran Press/Iran news: In a press conference, Khosrow Ghamari said that the club teams and different age groups of the national cycling team have won 395 gold, silver, and bronze medals in the last 9 years, which is unique in its kind.

"To promote refereeing and coaching in the field of cycling in Iran, we have sent 50 people to the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) camp in recent years, which became the basis for better training in this field in Iran," he added.

"Although a large number of Iranian champion cyclists have retired in recent years, we have been able to invite good cyclists for different age groups of the national team to the training camp," Ghamari stated.

"We currently have 5 cycling tracks in the country, some of which have been opened and some of which are under construction, while in the field of public sports, we have signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Sport and Youth to participate more in the field of public sports," he noted.
