Tehran (IP) - The president of the Cycling Federation of the Islamic Republic of Iran said that Iran has won a quota for the upcoming Olympics so far and has a chance to increase the quota until the start of the Tokyo Olympics.

Iran Press/Iran News: In an exclusive interview with Iran Press News Agency, Khosro Ghamari stated that Iranian cyclists have been among the 50 countries in the world that have won the Olympic quota, considering the Tokyo Olympic quota. The president of the Iranian Cycling Federation said that the Olympic cycling competitions will be held in 4 disciplines of track cycling, BMX racing, mountain bike racing, and road racing.

Khosro Ghamari added: "Of course, we have a good position in the field of cycling in Asia, and we are among the top two teams in the mountain bike racing, among the top three teams in the road racing, and among the top 6 teams in the track cycling."

The president of the Iranian Cycling Federation said: "We are also trying to get better positions in the women's section, and in last year's Asian Championships, for the first time in the last 70 years, Iranian women won the Asian bronze medal."

He also added, "Fortunately, in the international arena of the World and Asian Cycling Federation, 6 world and Asian seats have been won for the Iranian Cycling Federation."

“Of course, the condition for increasing the number of Asian and world seats for Iranian cycling is to host various international competitions for Iran, which is planned in this regard so that this can be done well,” Khosro Ghamari added.
