Iran Press/Asia: Ehsan Khazaei, Iran’s Cultural Attaché in Pakistan and Representative of the National Archives and Library in Pakistan, met with Seyyed Ghayyur Hussain, Director of the National Library of Pakistan, to discuss bilateral library cooperation and to visit various sections of the Library.
Emphasizing the establishment of joint cultural cooperation between the National Libraries of Iran and Pakistan, the Iranian Iran’s Cultural Attaché said: "The two friendly and brotherly countries of Iran and Pakistan have many cultural commonalities."
Appreciating the presence of Iran’s Cultural Attaché at the National Library of Pakistan, Seyyed Ghayyur Hussein called the fields of cooperation between the National Library of Iran and Pakistan abundant and wide and announced his readiness to deepen and expand cooperation.
The head of the National Library of Pakistan, referring to the status of the Persian language in Pakistan, said: "Countless historical and cultural commonalities connect Iran and Pakistan, and the Persian language has a special place and importance so that even the national anthem of Pakistan is in Persian."
The National Library of Pakistan was established in 1993 and has 662 exquisite manuscripts, of which 380 are in Persian.
