Iran Press/ Europe: During a meeting with Igor Babushkin, the head of the region, Mehdi Akuchakian added: "Iran wants Russian banks to invest in the Anzali Free Economic Zone in northern Iran, as well as direct flights between Iran and the Astrakhan region."
The head of the Astrakhan region, stating that more than 80% of the total cargo passing through the Astrakhan maritime transport route is exactly on the route to Iran, declared the Islamic Republic as the main foreign trade partner in the region.
Emphasizing close relations with Iran at the regional level, Babushkin considered the joint activity in the North and South International Transport Corridor development as the most important part of the cooperation between Astrakhan and Iran.
The first vessel in the container test line between Astrakhan and Iran in the Caspian section arrived in Astrakhan on Saturday from the north and south international transport corridor.
