Ammar al-Hakim arrived in Tehran late on Friday to meet with Iranian officials. Over the course of two days, he met with Hassan Khomeini, grandson of the late founder of Islamic Revolution; Ali Larijani, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council; Mohseni Ejei, Chief of the Judiciary; Sadegh Amoli Larijani, Secretary of the Expediency Discernment Council; and Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, Speaker of the Parliament.

Referring to the importance of Iraq in Iran's regional policy, President Pezeshkian described relations between the two countries as privileged and strategic, affirming Tehran’s readiness to support Iraq’s development, stability, and security.
Ammar Hakim expressed appreciation for Iran’s support of Iraq and its stance against the aggressions of the Israeli regime, stating: “The historical, religious, and cultural ties between the two nations are a solid basis for enhancing the level of cooperation.”
Hakim also stressed the importance of political and security coordination between Baghdad and Tehran to confront regional challenges and reinforce stability in West Asia.
