A seminar titled "Palestine Wants Peace" was organized in Islamabad under the auspices of the Pakistan Ulema Council. The seminar was attended by the Palestinian Chief Justice, the Imam of Al-Aqsa Mosque, and a large number of domestic and foreign scholars and intellectuals.

Why it matters:

This seminar amplifies the global call for justice and peace in Palestine, uniting voices from religious, legal, and intellectual spheres. It underscores the urgency of ending violence in Gaza and securing fundamental rights. Pakistan’s solidarity reflects a broader Muslim world consensus, pushing international institutions to act decisively against ongoing humanitarian violations.

The big picture:

“Palestine Wants Peace” is more than a conference; it’s a moral rallying cry. It highlights Palestine’s struggle not as a regional issue, but a universal one rooted in justice, dignity, and human rights. The gathering in Islamabad signals growing momentum among Muslim nations and global thinkers to demand an independent Palestinian state.

A high-level Palestinian delegation led by Chief Justice of Palestine Dr. Mahmoud Sedqi Al-Habash is in Pakistan.

The Chief Justice and his delegation from Palestine have arrived here. On the occasion of the 1500th anniversary of the birth of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), we welcome all the guests and this is the best opportunity to present an excellent position to the whole world".

Allama Arif Hussain Wahidi, the Vice President of the Shia Ulema Council of Pakistan, said, "It seems that the world has become accustomed to oppression, the same oppression continues there, but the world is silent.
