A high-level delegation of Palestinian dignitaries arrived in Pakistan on Wednesday. The delegation is headed by the Chief Justice of Palestine, Mahmood Siddiqui Abdul Rahman Al-Habash, while the Imam of Masjid Al-Aqsa and Imam of Masjid Ibrahimi are also accompanying the delegation.

The delegation was welcomed by Chairman Pakistan Ulema Council Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi, Secretary Religious Affairs Atta-ur-Rehman, Palestinian Ambassador to Pakistan Dr. Zaheer and senior Pakistani officials.

The delegation will participate in the World Seerah Conference, while meetings with Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and high officials are also scheduled.

What they're saying:

On this occasion, the Chief Justice of Palestine said that "Pakistan is our second home and we are grateful to the Pakistani nation, government and state for their stance on the Palestinian issue."

He said that the entire Palestinian nation is grateful for the stance of the Islamic world regarding Palestine. 

He further added that "the time is near when, God willing, we will gather in the Al-Aqsa Mosque and perform prayers of thanksgiving. In the month of September, many countries are going to recognize Palestine as an independent and sovereign state."

The Chief Justice said that Israel is becoming increasingly isolated on the global stage due to its oppression of Palestine.

Chairman Ulema Council, Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi, said that the Pakistani nation and the government of Pakistan are with our Palestinian brothers at every moment. We consider Israel an illegitimate state. Pakistan is with our Palestinian brothers for the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state and we salute the struggle of the Palestinian people.
