Hafiz Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi, Chairman of the Pakistan Ulema Council, declared that the Palestinian cause is the most important issue in the world today. His remarks came ahead of the arrival of a high-level Palestinian delegation to Pakistan, including the Chief Qazi of Palestine and the Imam of Masjid al-Aqsa.

Why it matters:

Pakistan's solidarity for Palestine goes on, especially as the Israeli regime continues killing Gazans. The delegation’s participation in national events and meetings with top Pakistani officials could strengthen regional support for the Palestinian cause.

The big picture:

The visit coincides with 12 Rabi al-Awwal, a date celebrated across the Muslim world as a symbol of unity and brotherhood. Pakistan is a supporter of Palestine and is using religious platforms like the World Seerah Conference to amplify its message of solidarity.

What he's saying:

Ashrafi stated:

“The relationship between Pakistan and Palestine is a clear example of love and brotherhood.”

He added that the Palestinian delegation will meet with the Prime Minister, the President, and other national leaders. “On 12 Rabi al-Awwal, the people of Pakistan will express solidarity with their Palestinian brothers. We pray for the resolution of the issues of Palestine and Kashmir, and for an end to Israeli oppression.”
