Iran Press/ Iran News: Speaking during the inauguration of the Khaf-Herat railway via videoconferencing on Thursday, Afghan President Ashraf Ghani said that the inauguration of the Khaf-Herat railway is a historical plan and crucial for trade and economic development for Afghanistan.
Ghani stated: "The project inaugurated today is the fruit of efforts made by the two neighboring countries to reach economic welfare for the future."
The Afghan president said that the Khaf-Herat railway is becoming operational at the pandemic era, showing Iran and Afghanistan strong national determination as two neighboring countries.
Ashraf Ghani called the Khaf-Herat project a revival of foreign trade and economic development of the two countries.
The 225-km Khaf-Herat railroad project can transfer six million tons of goods and one million passengers a year.
