Belgrade (IP) - Iran's ambassador to Belgrade and the defense minister of Serbia stressed the establishment and promotion of cooperation in various fields, including the defense field.

Iran Press/Europe: The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Belgrade Rashid Hassanpour met with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of Serbia, Nebojša Stefanović, on Tuesday and stated that there is the capacity to develop cooperation in the field of military training, military medicine, as well as other areas in the interests of both sides.

Referring to the long history of friendship between Serbia and Iran, Nebojša Stefanović said that Belgrade appreciates Tehran's principled position regarding the non-recognition of Kosovo's unilateral declaration of independence.

Welcoming the development of comprehensive cooperation between Tehran and Belgrade, the Serbian defense minister stressed that Serbia adheres to the principle of military neutrality and the maintenance of peace and stability with the aim of economic development.
