Tehran (IP) - Syrian foreign minister stresses that top Iranian Nuclear Scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh was trying to defend all of humanity, saying that perpetrators of the terrorist act against Fakhrizadeh must be held accountable.

Iran PressIran news: "The Syrian Arab Republic strongly condemns this crime. We want the perpetrators of Fakhrizadeh's assassination to be held accountable for their crime,” Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad told Iran Press in an exclusive interview on Tuesday on the sidelines of the ceremony of signing the memorial note of Martyr Fakhrizadeh.

Head of the Research and Innovation Organization of the Ministry of Defence of Iran, Mohsen Fakhrizadeh was martyred in a terrorist attack on the outskirts of Tehran on November 27, 2020.

Mekdad said Syria wants to stop such crimes committed by the Israeli regime and the United States.

Calling scientists "the property of the world," the Syrian foreign minister referred to Martyr Fakhrizadeh, saying: "Our Martyr has done his best to advance defensive ways of nuclear power. He was trying to defend all of us and all of humanity."

The Syrian foreign minister and ambassadors of various countries as well as military attaches in Tehran signed the memorial note of Martyr Fakhrizadeh in a ceremony on Tuesday.

Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, head of the Research and Innovation Organization of the Ministry of Defence of Iran was martyred in a terrorist attack on the outskirts of Tehran on November 27.
