Iran Press/Iran news: Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf stated in a meeting with Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad that the enemies do not want the independence and progress of Islamic countries.
Emphasizing strengthening ties in various political, economic, and cultural fields between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Syria, the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly said: "There has always been a growing relationship between the two countries and we should continue dialogue and consultation too."
He said that the enemies of the two countries do not want the independence, dignity and progress of Islamic countries, adding: "The Zionist regime, with the support of the United States, seeks to normalize its relations with some Islamic countries. Governments and the Islamic community must stand up to the path taken by the United States and the Zionist regime and present the normalization of relations to the international community as a disgrace."
He underscored that until the presence of the terrorist Israeli regime and the occupier of Quds, there will be no lasting security in the region.
Analyzing the prominent role of Qasem Soleimani in contributing to the security of the region, the Parliament Speaker called Syria the front line of the resistance against the Zionist regime and stressed the continuation of the Islamic Republic of Iran's support for the Syrian government and people.
Faisal Mekdad stated during the meeting that the United States once again showed its ugly face in the assassination of Martyr Mohsen Fakhrizadeh.
Syrian Foreign Minister expressed his condolences for the assassination of the country's nuclear scientist Fakhrizadeh and condemned this action.
Referring to the US presidential election and the possible election of Joe Biden as the new president, the Syrian Foreign Minister added: "The nature of US governments is not different from each other and the US presence in different parts of the world has always caused insecurity and instability."
