Tehran (IP) - The Islamic Republic of Iran became a member of the steering committee of the Asset Recovery Inter-Agency Network in West and Central Asia.

Iran Press/Iran news: In the meeting of the representatives of the member states of Asset Recovery Inter-Agency Network in West and Central Asia (ARIN-WCA), which was held from November 17 to 19 this year, the secretariat of the national authority for the Convention against Corruption of the Ministry of Justice, on behalf of the Islamic Republic of Iran, was accepted for the first time as a member of the steering committee of ARIN-WCA.

The importance of membership in the steering committee is due to the fact that it is responsible for overseeing the management of the network and can form various working groups to pay attention to various legislative and procedural issues of the member states of the network overseeing the return of assets resulting from corruption crimes.

Regional Asset Recovery Inter-Agency Network was established as a network for the recovery of corruption-related assets in West Asia and Central Asia following the meeting of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime on April 24 and 25, 2018, and has good connections in the field of recovery of assets resulting from corruption crimes with other regional networks around the world.
