Iran Press/ Iran News: In separate letters to the UN Secretary-General and UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Ali Baqeri Kani pointed to the assassination of the Iranian nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh and stressed that remaining passive to the criminal act escalates the taint of terrorism legitimization and leads to the spread of extremism and terrorism.
Recalling the UN's explicit reactions to the terrorist attacks in other countries including Austria (December 3, 2020, statement) and France (September 17, 2020, statement), Baqeri Kani called on the highest official in the UN to recognize the assassination of the Iranian nuclear scientist as a terrorist attack and condemn it, away from any discrimination.
The Iranian official said that state terrorism acts as a tool to advance the illegitimate policies of the arrogant powers, stressing that state terrorism.
State terrorism, more than ever, threatens international peace and security and has exposed human rights to perpetual abuses.
The Secretary of Iran's Judiciary High Council for Human Rights criticized the West's selective and hypocritic approach to terrorism and noted that the West's decriminalizing terrorists and terrorism-laundering has faced the global community with new challenges over the international peace and security.
Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, head of the Research and Innovation Organization of the Ministry of Defense and a scientist in the country's nuclear industry, was martyred on Friday (November 27th) in a terrorist attack around Tehran.
