Majid Karimi, in a meeting with Salvadore Labarbera

Tehran (IP)- Iran's Anti-Narcotics Police Chief Brigadier General Majid Karimi emphasized strengthening bilateral cooperation between the Iranian and Italian narcotics police.

Iran Press/Iran news: On Wednesday, Colonel Majid Karimi, in a meeting with Salvadore Labarbera, the new Italian Drug liaison officer, Mr. Fabio Bernardi here in Tehran, pointed to the favorable and constructive relationship between the two countries in police cooperation and added: "We hope to seize the opportunity in the fight against drug trafficking and transit."

Karimi further stressed the need to improve bilateral cooperation between Iran and Italy and said: "Strengthening the level of cooperation between the two countries through the exchange of experiences, and use of capacities, can enormously assist combating drug trafficking regionally and internationally."

General Fabio Bernardi, Italy's former liaison officer accompanying Labarbera, said: "Italy wants to increase bilateral cooperation with the Iranian Anti-Narcotics Police to combat the transit and trafficking of drugs internationally."
