Iran Press/ Europe: Permanent Representative of Russia to International Organizations in Vienna, Mikhail Ulyanov, reacted to the latest call by Iranian lawmakers for ending the application of Additional Protocol following the assassination of Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, the prominent Iranian Nuclear Scientist who served as Deputy for Iran's Ministry of Defence, and tweeted: "Probably, the assassination was aimed at undermining the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and cooperation with International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)."
The Russian envoy also referred to the Iranian lawmakers' decision, calling it an "understandable reaction."
Following the assassination of the head of the Research and Innovation Organization of the Ministry of Defense, the Iranian lawmakers on Sunday stressed the revival of the country's nuclear industry by the termination of the Additional Protocol’s voluntary implementation and the prevention of unprecedented inspections by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, head of the Research and Innovation Organization of the Ministry of Defense was martyred in a terrorist attack around Tehran on Friday evening.
