RAWALPINDI (IP) — Business leaders in Pakistan staged a powerful solidarity walk in Rawalpindi on Wednesday evening to denounce Israeli genocide in Gaza and affirm their economic boycott of Israeli-linked products.

Why it matters:

The move marks a significant stance by Pakistan’s private sector, as influential business figures publicly align with the Palestinian cause—not just symbolically, but through pledges of economic action.

The big picture:

Organized by the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Gaza Solidarity Walk drew a mix of business, political, and diplomatic figures. Among them were Palestinian Ambassador Dr. Zaheer Muhammad Hamdullah Zaid, Pakistani Federal Railways Minister Hanif Abbasi, political leader Sharjeel Mir, and representatives of the Palestinian embassy.

What they’re saying:

Business leaders declared they would not sell products that directly or indirectly support the Zionist regime.

“The business community is united,” one speaker said. “Any attempt to market Israeli goods will face backlash from both traders and the public.”

Key points:

  • Protesters carried Palestinian flags and placards condemning Israeli genocide.
  • Symbolic coffins representing martyred Palestinian children were part of the procession.
  • The walk started at the Chamber of Commerce and ended at the Gymkhana Club in Rawalpindi.
  • The presence of Palestinian diplomats gave the demonstration an added layer of political significance.

Go deeper:

While Pakistan has long supported Palestine at the diplomatic level, this show of unity from the private sector signals an expanding front in the boycott movement. With business leaders pledging not only symbolic support but also economic resistance, the Gaza issue is no longer confined to government rhetoric—it’s becoming a grassroots economic stance.
