In a phone conversation with their Iranian counterpart, Syria, Qatari foreign ministers condemned the assassination of a nuclear scientist, Mohsen Fakhrizadeh.

Iran PressMiddle East: Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal al-Mekdad, in his phone conversation with Iran's foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, condemned the assassination of Martyr Fakhrizadeh and offered his condolences to his Iranian counterpart.

In a meeting with the Iranian ambassador in Damascus, the Syrian foreign minister also called on the international community to fulfill its duties in such terrorist acts.

In a separate conversation, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani of Qatar, also called Zarif to offer his condolences on the nuclear scientist's martyrdom.

Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, head of the Research and Innovation Organization of the Ministry of Defense and prominent Iranian nuclear scientist, was assassinated and martyred on Friday afternoon local time in Damavand, Tehran Province, by unknown individuals during an armed conflict with his bodyguards.
