Palestinian detainee set free after long hunger strike

Al-Quds(IP) - Maher al-Akhras, a Palestinian detainee who recently challenged the Zionist regime with his long resistance as well as a hunger strike, was released from prison.

Iran PressMiddle East: Maher al-Akhras has been on a hunger strike for more than 100 days in protest at his unannounced detention (administrative detention) and his request for the release of himself and other detainees.

He had made a will which read that he did not want to die in a Zionist hospital, and had asked to be transferred to a hospital in the West Bank to die among his compatriots and in the presence of his children.

Maher al-Akhras is a resident of the northern West Bank town of Silat ad-Dhahr in Jenin Governorate.
