Tehran (IP) - Minister of Roads and Urban Development of Iran, announced the end of the Khaf-Herat railway project and added that the Iran-Afghanistan railway would be connected in less than a month.

Iran Press/Iran News: "Landlocked countries, especially Afghanistan, are always trying to access high seas, and the Khaf-Herat railway is helping Afghanistan transit through Iran," Mohammad Eslami said.

The Khaf-Herat railway is under construction in four sections with a length of 191 km, of which 77 km is inside Iran, and the other 114 km is inside Afghanistan.

Parts one and two of the project is extended from Khaf city in Khorasan Razavi province to Shamtigh border in Iran and sections three and four from Shamtigh border to Herat in Afghanistan.
